LCK 2020 Summer Promotion – Betting Preview April 28, 2020

Team Dynamics vs. SANDBOX Gaming – 4:00AM ET April 28, 2020

Griffin vs. Seorabeol Gaming – 6:00AM ET April 28, 2020

It’s time for the LCK 2020 Summer Promotion to begin, which provides us with a nice DFS slate on Fanduel and Draftkings. Four teams are competing for two spots in the LCK 2020 Summer Season in this double elimination bracket. This includes the two last place teams in the LCK – SANDBOX Gaming and Griffin, as well as the winner of the CK 2020 Spring Season – Seorabeol Gaming, and the winner of the CK 2020 Spring Playoffs – Team Dynamics.

Team Dynamics (TD) vs. SANDBOX Gaming (SB) – 4:00AM ET April 28, 2020

Moneyline: SANDBOX Gaming -286
Map Handicap: N/A

SANDBOX Gaming is a heavy favorite to win this match-up, which is expected since they were just competing in the LCK, while Team Dynamics competed in the lower CK. As such, it would be surprising to see them lose in this spot. However, they are coming off of a poor performance for the Spring Season where they finished with a record of 5-13, while Team Dynamics is fresh off of back-to-back playoff wins to earn this opportunity. Despite recent trends, I am still very confident in SB in this spot, because they have been playing against better competition. I think that SANDBOX Gaming is the best team on this slate, and Team Dynamics is the worst, so SB is my favorite stack. My book doesn’t have a line for the map handicap, but SANDBOX Gaming -286 moneyline looks like a really good play. My favorite play for DFS is FATE (MID) especially on Fanduel where he is only $9,100. FATE should get the start after playing extremely well as a substitute in the last match of the season for SANDBOX Gaming. Leo (ADC) is the most expensive player on both Fanduel and Draftkings, but I still think he is a great option and will be owned in most of my lineups. I will be pretty much be fading all of Team Dynamics in DFS.

Griffin (GRF) vs. Seorabeol Gaming (SRB) – 6:00AM ET April 28, 2020

Moneyline: Griffin -270
Map Handicap: N/A

Once again, the LCK team is a heavy favorite over the CK team. However, I have my eye on the underdog in this spot. Griffin finished in last place in the LCK with a 5-13 record, but did end the season with some momentum after winning 3 of their last 4 series. GRF is about as solid of a team as SANDBOX Gaming, but they definitely drew the tougher match-up here. Seorabeol Gaming won the CK 2020 Spring Season outright with an 11-3 record, and looked like a team that is ready to make the jump to the next level. This will be the biggest challenge SRB has seen thus far, but I do think they are capable of at least competing. Unfortunately, my book does not have a line for map handicap for this match, otherwise I’d be very interested in taking SRB with the spread. I do still think that moneyline can provide good value if you can get moneyline odds of at least +200, which would give SRB an implied win probability of 33.3%. It’s not a lock, but I think taking Seorabeol Gaming +230 moneyline is the best option, and I’ll put a small bet on this outcome. I will be stacking SRB pretty heavily in daily fantasy, and I am hoping that the field will mainly be on GRF stacks instead. If you are stacking SRB, then you need to have Sangyoon (ADC) who is a phenomenal player and probably has the highest ceiling in this match-up. I will also have high ownership on Thal (TOP), who is only $7,900 on Fanduel and $6,000 on Draftkings.  KaKAO (JNG) is another play I really like for DFS, and I will include him in many of my stacks. I’m pretty much going to just take a stand and fade GRF on this slate, which is a little risky, but there aren’t any plays I love on that side.
