Summit6 – June 27, 2020

We have all of the winners from the first round playing on Saturday. The winner of these matches will lock themself in to a playoff spot, while the losers will have to take on Friday’s winners. They’ll be competing for the final playoff spot. The European slate on Saturday is tough, as the shortest favorite is sitting around -200, and there’s not much value on the dogs. For that reason, I’ll be dipping in to the Clutch Island event for the first play of the day. I’ll have a European parlay and we’ll see if there’s any value to be found in the North American region. At the time of publish, we are currently 1-1 with our picks for Friday. Our record is 4-2 and we’ve profited 2.8 units. I’ll be busy today, so I’m getting this blog out early, but I’ll update the record later tonight.

Summit6 Record: 4-2 (+2.8u)

Winstrike (-180) vs Hard Legion (+150) – 6am EST – Clutch Island

I know the title of the blog, but I also know value when I see it. This match jumped off the page when I was scrolling through lines last night. Hard Legion and Winstrike will be meeting for the 7th place decider match. Neither of these teams were able to find a win during group play, but I would argue that the form of Winstrike is much worse. After finishing second in Road to Rio (CIS), Winstrike has lost all six of the matches they’ve played. They failed to qualify for Blast Premier, came in 13-16th place in a Home Sweet Home Cup, and now failed to make playoffs for Clutch Island. Something seems to be seriously off. Hard Legion is on a couple series losing streak, but is 7-3 throughout their last 10.

As if the form wasn’t enough reason to back Hard Legion as a +150 under dog, they also have a huge advantage in the map pool. Winstreak have to continue to use their insta ban on Inferno. This will allow Hard Legion to pick Overpass for their map, and Winstrike is 0-4 on Overpass in the past three months. Winstrike will most likely use their first pick on Vertigo, which went to over time the last time these two teams met. The deciding map should be Dust2, and Hard Legion has the better win percentage with almost twice as many maps played. Hard Legion is a very live dog, with a ton of value at +150.

Miner’s Money Pick: Hard Legion (+150)

Vitality (-400) vs North (+300) – 9am EST

I’m not even thinking about playing either team on the money line in this one, but I do see some value on Vitality. Vitality has been surging through the ranks, with improved team play top to bottom. North is on the opposite side of the spectrum and has been reeling since the loss of Kjaerbye. They’ve been getting beat up by lower tier teams and struggling in Home Sweet Home Cups. They also use their first pick on Vertigo, which Vitality is a perfect 7-0 on in the past three months. Vitality should win their own map pick, and should be a pretty big favorite on Vertigo. My play will be on Vitality to win 2-0.

Miner’s Money Pick: Vitality -1.5 (-120) *1.2u*

Liquid (-120) vs Evil Geniuses (-110) – 3:00pm EST

We get a second match between Liquid and EG in just about a week. EG took the last meeting by a 2-1 scoreline, which came during the Blast Premiere Spring Finals. We cashed tickets on that match by hitting the over. Prior to that match, Liquid was on a 9 best of three series win streak against EG. They have dominated the meetings with EG in 2020. Despite losing the most recent meeting, Liquid holds a 9-4 map advantage this year. When these teams met just a week ago, Liquid was favored around -200, so we have quite the adjustment for this line. I believe this is just recency bias and listing Liquid at -120 is an over adjustment. Especially when taking the 2020 head to head stats in to consideration. I think Liquid will make the adjustments needed, and come away with another series win against EG. -120 is more than a fair price.

Miner’s Money Pick: Liquid (-120) *1.2u*

*PARLAY SPECIAL*

I think both of the favorites at the 12pm EST time slot should be able to come away with a win. BiG is listed as a -275 favorite against OG and NiP is a -190 favorite against Heroic. I think both BiG and NiP should be able to get it done, but to avoid the money line juice, I’ll be using them as a two team parlay. The parlay pays out at +110 and I will be playing it for a unit and a half. BiG should handle OG easily. NiP may struggle a bit more against Heroic, but NiP has been playing great Counter Strike and have been looking good with Hampus. I think NiP will ban Nuke and opt to play Dust2 against Heroic. They may lose that map, but should be able to take the other two.

Miner’s Money Pick: 2T-Parlay – BiG & NiP money lines (+110) *1.5u*
