Betting Record (25-15, +4.18 units) – LCS 2020 Summer Split

Immortals vs. Team Dignitas – 9:00PM ET

FlyQuest vs. 100 Thieves – 10:00PM ET

Immortals (1-7) vs. Team Dignitas (0-8) – 9:00PM ET

Moneyline Odds: Immortals (-210) | Team Dignitas (+150)

Bet: Team Dignitas Moneyline (+150) [1 UNIT]

Why I Like It: These are the 2 worst teams in the LCS right now, so this is probably the best chance that Team Dignitas has of getting a win this split, especially since they’re on blue side for this match-up. Dignitas has gone with Fenix in mid lane recently, and he’s been a little tough to watch with really low kill participation. They’ll definitely need a better performance from their mid laner if they want to start winning, and Fenix is certainly capable of more than he has shown. Dignitas has also gone with Dardoch as their jungler, which has looked like an excellent coaching decision. Fenix & Dardoch played together on the Academy team, and they should have good chemistry.

I also think that Dignitas can win the bottom lane and I feel strongly about Johnsun outperforming his projections. With the 1st pick in the draft, we are likely to see Dignitas choose a marksman, which would probably be Aphelios. Johnsun has looked very strong on this champion and he’s been one of the best farmers in the LCS in general, so I definitely see value here. Overall, this match-up is setting up for a potential Dignitas upset, and this bet makes a lot of sense at +150 odds.

FlyQuest (5-3) vs. 100 Thieves (2-6) – 10:00PM ET

Moneyline Odds: FlyQuest (-275) | 100 Thieves (+190)

Bet: FlyQuest Moneyline (-275) [2 UNITS]

Why I Like It: 100 Thieves have also made some recent roster changes, similar to Team Dignitas. Contractz has already proven that he is currently a better jungler than Meteos, and Poome has shown great potential, so these substitutions have seemed to unquestionably work out. But 100T have a tough match-up here and I still expect them to struggle against the elite teams in the LCS. If you were to put the LCS teams into tiers, it would probably look something like this:

S Tier: Cloud9

A Tier: Team Liquid, Team SoloMid, FlyQuest, Evil Geniuses

B Tier: CLG, Golden Guardians, 100 Thieves

C Tier: Immortals, Team Dignitas

In my opinion, this 100 Thieves roster needs more time playing together before they can compete with those A Tier teams, and they of course have no chance against Cloud9. So far, 100T have only been able to beat Immortals and Team Dignitas, which are both bottom-tier teams. FlyQuest has lost 2 of their last 3, so I understand not having complete faith in them, but their losses were extremely competitive, including losing to Team Liquid with a 19-15 kill advantage. FlyQuest is a much better team and I think this should be a pretty easy win for them. PowerOfEvil has played nearly perfect as Orianna and I’m hoping she does not get banned by 100T. Either way, PowerOfEvil is the key to this team and his slow start against Team Liquid probably cost FlyQuest the win in their last match. He should bounce back in this spot and I would not be surprised to see Ryoma struggle against him in the laning phase.
