The LCS is back for the Summer Split and the first match-up should be a good one. We’ll see the same starting lineups for both teams from the Spring, although EG has decided to go with a 7-man rotation that would sometimes include putting Huni in at top lane, and Deftly at ADC. Each team is only allowed 2 players that aren’t North American residents in their lineup at one time, so Huni would put them over the limit with Bang and Jiizuke otherwise. We won’t be seeing the Huni/Deftly combo today, but overall, I don’t like the idea of taking Bang out of the lineup, even though it is nice having the experience of Huni on the roster. Evil Geniuses finished the Spring Split in 2nd place with a 10-8 record. EG beat FlyQuest in the first round of the playoffs, but then lost to them 3-1 in a hard-fought series for the Semifinals. Bang and Jiizuke showed that they were on another level compared to their teammates, and I think EG should make some other changes to solidify this team, especially if they want to dethrone Cloud9.

100 Thieves finished in 3rd place in the Spring Split with a 10-8 record, but the playoffs did not go as they had hoped. They were swept 3-0 by Cloud9 to start, which came as no surprise since Cloud9 is the most dominant team in the LCS by far. However, they had Team SoloMid on the ropes in their Losers’ Bracket series and just couldn’t finish them in game 5. 100T actually finished that game 5 with a 23-15 kill advantage, and they got the only Baron of the game. Ultimately, Bjergsen made some clutch plays for TSM, and Kobbe won them the last team fight by being super fed and having 400+ CS. Ssumday is one of my favorite players to watch play League of Legends and he should do well per usual, but 100 Thieves will also need good performances elsewhere, particularly from Cody Sun if they will want to win in this spot.

Evil Geniuses had a record of 2-1 against 100 Thieves in the Spring. The last time these teams played was March 30th, 2020, and Evil Geniuses won in a fairly close manner. I sometimes think that Cody Sun is underrated, but he was basically useless in that game for 100T. For this match-up today, it’s very close to a coin flip for me. I think there is pretty good value on 100 Thieves Moneyline (+130) [1 UNIT]. If 100T gets a favorable draft, I might look to live bet them further. My favorite DFS play is Ssumday (TOP), who should have a decent fantasy point output even in a loss.

Bet: 100 Thieves Moneyline (+130) [1 UNIT].
Favorite DFS Play: Ssumday (TOP)
