CSGO April 9, 2020

Today features a couple of huge matchups in stage 2 of the ESL Pro League Season 11. I’ll be briefly breaking down two of the three matchups and giving my picks for those of you looking for some early afternoon action.

#1 Natus Vincere vs #5 Fnatic

Fnatic and Natus come into this matchup in in part of a 3-way tie for first place in the group. Each team is 3-1 in stage two, but fnatic holds the tiebreaker based on round differential. The winner of this game secures their spot in the top three and will at least get a spot in the semi final game, while also having a chance to secure a bye to the championship. Natus has Fnatics number in head to head matchups, winning 21 of the 28 matchups. I expect a full effort from Natus after coming out sleeping yesterday against Faze. Faze jumped out to an early 1-0 lead and was up 12-3 at halftime of map 2 before blowing the lead and losing both map 2 and 3. I think we’ll see a focused Natus squad based on the slow start yesterday combined with a chance to secure a spot in the playoff.

Miner’s Money Pick: Natus Vincere (-140)

#2 Astralis vs #4 Mousesports

Mouse enters this game as part of the 3-way tie for first place and controls their own destiny. With a win here they will secure their spot in the playoff and a chance to win $75,000. Astralis is still very alive and has a chance to squeak into the top 3 with a win but it will come down to tie breakers after that. They currently hold the best round differential in stage 2 so with a strong showing today they could make the playoff. These teams have only met three times prior to this matchup, with Mouse winning twice and Astralis winning once. They last met in the finals of the last season of ESL. Mouse won that matchup 2-1. With each team fighting for a spot in the playoffs, I expect a max effort from both squads. Vegas sees this as a coin flip, making Astralis slight favorites at -130. This matchup is to close for me to pick a side but I do expect to see all three maps played

Miner’s Money Pick: Total Maps o2.5 (+100)
